Verde reviews a few local open space preserves and parks - a perfect escape from the computer screens that dominate our shelter-in-place lives.
REJECTED REOPENING,
COMMUNITY CLASHES OVER HYBRID PLAN

Less than a week after the school board unanimously voted to reopen Palo Alto High School, Santa Clara County entered the purple COVID-19 tier, and all hope of returning to school this year was lost. Regardless of the now-defunct reopening plan, the process leading up to the board's decision raised issues of transparency and emphasized the divide between the board and its constituents.

Even with the trials and tribulations of COVID-19, Palo Alto Art is still thriving. Qualia Contemporary Art Gallery recently concluded a showing featuring work from Bay Area artists Cate White and Sean Howe and their exhibitions “Here to Retunity” and “Inhabitants”. Verde spoke to both artists and owner Dacia Xu about the gallery, paintings, and much more.
REAL PRODUCE MARKET: NEW PALO ALTO STORE OFFERS MULTICULTURAL PRODUCTS

Located at the College Terrace Center on 501 Oxford Ave., Real Produce International Market has caught the attention of many since its opening on Dec. 28. In addition to offering fresh produce, the family-owned grocery store carries an extensive selection of international products with many Middle Eastern and European items that cannot be found elsewhere in Palo Alto.
